| Album Info: | Porter-built 2-foot gage steam locomotive operating near Youngstown, Ohio. This was a plant switcher for Jones & Laughlin Steel. It was ballasted with extra slabs of steel to give a weight on 33" drivers of approximately 40,000 lbs. This was done to enhance adhesion / tractive effort hauling extremely heavy loads around a steel mill. Youngstown Steel Heritage. |
