| Album Info: | Conrail maintained a number of Alco's at Bethlehem, Pa in the summer of 1978. Former L&HR C420 21 (CR 2072), the only C420 repainted blue, joined RS11 7643 on assignment out of Bethlehem on July 16, 1978. The other ex-L&HR C420's and ex-LV RS11's based at Bethlehem were on assignment out of the area that day, with many seen working locally a month later. Many of the Alco's remained at Bethlehem through July, 1979, with 7644, 7651, and 7652 being repainted in CR blue. Also on this day in July, a number of D&H U-boats and Alco C420 410 joined the CR power at the Bethlehem engine terminal. |
